What does the Innovation Office do?

It offers advice, support and help.

The Innovation Office is a first point of contact providing orientation and support, especially for academic research groups, small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups. We offer support for a wide range of topics, like issues regarding general understanding as well as specific questions on your individual project idea. We support you in finding the right contact person, not only within the BfArM, but also outside of the BfArM, in case your concern is not within our area of responsibility.

What is the difference between a kick-off meeting and a scientific advice procedure?

A kick-off meeting will typically take an hour and concerns general issues e.g., with regard to the formal prerequisites of an application procedure or the eligibility to apply.

A scientific advice on the other hand concerns inquiries e.g., regarding the detailed and product-related prerequisites for application as well as the documentation to be submitted, or regarding methodological and extensive procedural requirements, or questions directly related to individual prerequisites for provision of evidence or suitability thereof. As a rule, such meetings last 1.5 hours.

How do you request a kick-off meeting?

The figure shows how the process for a kick-off meeting works. The application documents are submitted. The advisory team is put together, the dates are agreed and then the kick-off meeting takes place.

How long do kick-off meetings or DiGA-Beratungen take?

As a rule, 60 to 90 minutes.
