Version history
This overview shows the periods of validity and areas of application for different versions of ICD-10-GM; in addition, it may also contain a reference to the publication in the Federal Gazette of the date that the version became effective.
ICD-10-GM first became mandatory in ICD-10-SGB-V version 1.3 for the statement of diagnoses in accordance with §§ 295 and 301 of the German Social Insurance Code Volume V (SGB-V). Previously, ICD-10-WHO or ICD-9 was used for this purpose.
