Official Launch of Iris Version 6

The Iris Institute is proud to unveil Iris Version 6.1.0.9, marking the first annual statistically stable release of an Iris system that fully supports ICD-11 mortality coding.

This milestone continues Iris’ legacy of delivering consistent, statistically robust digital automated selection of the underlying cause of death. With this release, Iris maintains its commitment to precision by incorporating a comprehensive ICD-11 dictionary, ensuring that all conditions — including extension codes — are coded exactly as defined and reported.

Key highlights of Iris V6.1.0.9 include:

  • Robust quality control: Allows users to create and maintain their own dictionary.
  • Ease of installation and security:  Iris V 6.1.0.9 can be run locally without the need of internet connection.
  • Updated Decision Tables: Built upon the legacy of ICD-8, ICD-9, and ICD-10 decision tables, now enhanced to leverage the structural and semantic improvements of ICD-11.
  • Compliant with WHO guidelines: Fully aligned with the latest updates in the 2025 ICD-11 Reference Guide and Value Sets.
  • Backward Comparability Preserved: As there are no changes in software logic or rules, Iris allows for easy identification of shifts between versions of the classification.
  • ICD API Access: Users now have the option to access the ICD-11 API directly within Iris, enabling seamless adoption of this advanced technology.

This release represents a significant step forward in mortality coding and statistical analysis. We invite users and partners to explore the enhanced capabilities of Iris V6.1.0.9.
