Change requests
Since 2022, SNOMED International has published a new version of the International Edition of SNOMED CT every month.
Change requests of SNOMED CT concepts for the International Edition are applied in Germany via the National Release Center (NRC) at the BfArM. These so-called "change requests" cover the following cases:
- Adding new concepts.
- Modification or inactivation of existing concepts, descriptions or relationships.
- Addition of descriptions or relationships to existing concepts.
Before you request a change request, please check whether the notes for the application for the SNOMED CT International Release (in German) are met.
Furthermore, we provide you with a checklist for the application of Change requests for the SNOMED CT International Release (in German), which should help you when filling the request form.
Please describe in English as much detail as possible why you need the change for and justify your request for change with current and internationally recognised sources.

SNOMED International decides on the approval of requests and extensions for inclusion in the International Edition. Currently, requests for the inclusion of new concepts in the National Edition cannot be submitted.
