Covidien has issued a Field Safety Notice concerning the possible failure of the ventilators. The defect of a capacitor may result in the inability of the ventilator to switch automatically from A/C mains power to internal battery operation when the ventilator is disconnected from A/C mains during use or when there is a failure of the A/C mains power.
