The company Advanced Medical Optics, Inc. (AMO) issued an Urgent Safety Notice concerning the safe use of the VISX™ STAR™ excimer laser chair in “fully swung out” unlocked position. For customers who use the chair additionally in combination with the IntraLase FS Laser the patient chair back switch on the STAR chair will be disabled. The company describes measures which help prevent any unintended chair operation.
