Welding seams in care bed Residenz 98, manufactured by the former MTW Thale GmbH, may crack at the framework mounting under continuous stress. The beds concerned were manufactured before the year 2000.

In our opinion, regular visual inspections of the welding seams should be performed to discover beginning damage at an early stage.

The former manufacturer MTW Thale GmbH no longer exists. Therefore the BfArM has chosen to distribute this information in this manner.

Questions concerning the operation of products immediately affected should be addressed to the Local Competent Authority of the respective facility.
